Welcome! My name is Kimberly Coleman.
As the sign that I’m holding in the picture says, “I SUPPORT WOMEN WHO MARCH TO THE BEAT OF THEIR OWN DRUM” – women like you and me. With RK Responsive Design, I support women entrepreneurs by helping them create beautiful, user-friendly websites and blogs that enhance their personal brands and businesses. I am especially passionate about helping startup entrepreneurs who are in the beginning stages of business.
I work with clients on both the style and substance of their sites. While looks are not everything, first impressions count. It is essential that your website or blog gives visitors a positive impression of you and your business. That is why I create high-quality mobile responsive websites that shift in size according to the type of device that your readers are looking at it on. (Having a mobile responsive site is also important so that your website will show up when people look for it on search engines like Google.) In addition, I train my web clients in basic search engine optimization (SEO) and analytics tracking so that they can expand their reach.
It is ironic that I now work on the back end of websites and blogs because I was actually terrified to touch the back end of my Mom in the City blog for many years. While I have been a professional lifestyle blogger for more than twelve years, for seven of those years I had designers on call so that I wouldn’t “break” my blog. One random day I decided that I wanted to learn about my site from the ground up. I’ll admit that it initially helped that I had a safety net in my husband Reggie who has an M.B.A. in Computer Information Sciences and a decade of computer programming experience. Fortunately, I learned web development very quickly. It’s like figuring out a series of puzzles which works great for my detail-oriented, analytical brain.
I started sharing what I was learning about the technical basics of blogging with others and soon friends and colleagues were asking me to develop their sites and referring me to their friends and family members who needed blogs or business websites. Now, I spend my work time creating blog content and developing sites primarily using the Genesis framework.
Thanks for visiting my site. While you are here, read what some of my former blogger and small business clients thought about working with me. If you would like to learn more, send me a message or schedule a free introductory consultation. I would love to work with you to create a site that best represents you and your brand!
